TE AROHAJHOT SPRINGS* AS a SUMMER RETREAT not one among the SANATORIA of New Zealand is so rapidly becoming famous as TE AROHA. The celebrity of its HOT SPRINGS is ex-lending throughout the length and breadth of the Colony, and the WONDERFUL CURES effected by the Waters in eases of RIIEU-M-XTISM, GOUT, LUMBAGO, LIVER, AND KIDNEY COMPLAIjnTS, INDIGESTION, and Kindred Ailments, are gratefully testified to in the Visitors' Book by Hundreds of Felons who by their use have been res'toied to Health and all its enjoyments. The place is 2 iar excellence, th a SANATORIUM OF THE PEOPLE. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING PROPERTIES is unsurpassed ; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE; and th© locality is easy of access by river, rail, on uoad from Auckland and the Tlmmes. In addition to these advantages tlicie aro for the Robust abundant means of enjoyment iv BOATING, RIDING, AND DRIVING, while for those in delicate health the neatly laid out Domain forms a most pleasant resort. The following analysis of tho Waters by Mr J. A. Pond, Colonial I Analyst, and the accompanying extracts from his report thereon to the Domain Board, will be read with interest. The Samples were taken from the Springs, as numbered, the tempeidturcs of which ranged from lOodegs, to ll'Jdogs. Fahr :—: — CO Analysis. 6 % 6 -=j fen fen go. Total solid matter 857.829 822.184 811.702 Results expressed in grains per gallon. These Waters are all' feebly alkaline and strongly charged with caibonio acid gas, which is constantly escaping from the Springs in large quantities. Tho Lithia, a valuable constituent of these Waters, is present in an appreciable quantity. The Analysis show these Springs to "be very similar in composition. These Mineral Waters are exceedingly interesting, and will prove of great value medicinally. They closely resemble some of the European Mineral Springs so justly celebrated, more especially those of Vichy, Eir s, and Fftchingen. Their Curative Value will be greatest in Rheumatic anil Arthritic Diseases, Calculus, Affections of the Kidneys, and D} spepsia. You may rest assured that all you can do for your Springs in the bhapo of improving the facilities for their usej is entirely justified by tho character of the water.
