TE AROHA HOT SPRINGS. AS a SUMMER RETREAT not one among the SANATORLA of New Zealand i« so rapidly becoming famous as TE AKOHA. The celebrity of its HOT SPRINGS ia extending throughout the length and breadth of the Colony, and the WONDERFUL CURES effected by the Waters in cases of RHEUMATISM, GOUT, LUMBAGO, LIVER, AND KIDNEY COMPLAIjnTS, INDIGESTION, and Kindred Ailment*, nre testified to in the to'sitotV Book by Hundreds of Pei-sons who by their use have been restored to Health aii'd all its enjoyments. The place is par excellence, the SANATORIUM OF THE PEOPLE. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING PROPERTIES is unsurpassed ; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE; and the locality is easy of access by iuver, rail, OR road from Auckland and the Thames. In addition to these advantages there are for the Robust abundant means of enjoyment in BOATING, RIDING, AND DRIVING, while for those in delicate health the neatly laid out Domain forms a most pleasant resort. The following analysis of the Waters by Mr J. A. Pond, Colonial Analyst, and the accompanying extracts from his report thereon to the Domain J.oarJ, will be read with interest. The S.nnpleB were Liken from the Springs, as numbered, the ternpeiatures of which ranged from Iosdegs. to H9degs. These Waters are all' feebly alkaline and strongly charged with caibonic acid gas, which is conhtantly escaping from the Springs in largo quantities. The Lithia, a valuable constituent of these Waters, is present in an appreciable quantity. The Analysis show these Springs to be very similar in composition. These Mineral Wuter-s are exceedingly interesting, and will prove of great value medicinally. They closely resemble some of the European Mineral Springs so justly celebmted, more especially those of Vichy, Ercs, and Fachingen. Their Curative Value will be greatest in Rheumatic and Arthritic Diseases, Calculus, Affections of the Kidneys, and Djspepsia. You may rest assured that all yon can do for your Springs in the ahape of improving the facilities for their use, is entirely justified by the character of the water.
