Auckland, May 3. In answer to au advertisement, a large number of peisons interested in the above met together at the offices ot Messrs Richardson and Drower on Saturday afternoon. In consequence of the large attendance, the meeting adjourned to the Wharf Hotel, next door. Captain Edgar opened the proceedings by placing before the persons present some maps of the Kimbeiley district, and gave a short account of what he knew, as an old explorer, of that part of Western Australia. Captain Friend th6n said that he was ready, if sufficient inducement offered, to take passengers by steamers from Auckland, to the nearest port to the goldfield, which *he considered to be the River Ord, in the Cambridge Gulf. The talk then became general, and although a great deal of interest was manifested, no real decision was arrived at It is understood that another meeting will be held. >
