Fresh Facts Elicited.
The inquest on the five bodies recovered from the wreck of the Taiaroa was resumed this morning before Mr Allen, R.M., coroner. Ths following additional evidence was given : — Constable Dew described the condition of the bodies when he assisted to remove them from the beach to the wool-shed. He found on the mate's body a silver watch and chain with key attached, briar-root pipe, several letter?, certificate of birth in 1S0O, four £10 notes, fifteen single ones, a halfeovereign, 3s Gd in silver, 3d in copper, a leather purse, and two handkerchiefs. Ho found on the chief efficev's body a master's certificate and several other certificates in a leather pouch, but no watch or money. He found on the supposed engineer's body one £10 noto, four lives, 14 single 3 , three sovereigns, and a cheque fcr £25 drawn by Mr Er*kine Galbraith in favour of tho Union Company. Nothing was found on the other two bodies. There were no marks on any of their clothes by which to identify them. Edward Roger?, Kekerangu station, carpenter, deposed to finding one of the bodies in the water, and anchoring it at high water mark. It had part of one leg bitten away.
