HOW THE SURVIVORS ESCAPED. Mr Troloves Statement.
The following is the statement made by Mr Trolove, owner of Kekepangu station : — " On the first news that there was a steamer ashore, myself, Mrs Trolove, and the men immediately proceeded down and found the Taiaroa on the beach. The survivors came up to the station about 6 this morning, and told us about the accident. Their names are Sergant Grant, A.C., and Gilbert Hutton, passenger. When we reaohed the beach we
hailed tho steamor, but no ono was aboard. We then wont along tho beach and picked up some bodies. Thcso wore all found about three miles, north-weet. We then turned back, and some of tho men are now searching the beach further to the northward.
