Smith, £35 8s 4d, Main Road : Foi Supplying 600 yards Shingle ; Q. 0. Deverill and Co. (accepted), 3s 3d yard ; B. Traynor, 3s 8d ; E. Baines (300 yards only), 3s lid ; Wm. Marsh (if allowed to take the Paeroa end;, 3s Bd. Correspondence was next read. Outward ; To Mr h. M. Grace, Taopo stating that the council had resolved to spend to £500 given by Government on improving the Thamss-Tauranga ro-id. To the Government, requesting th'eia to conserve all navigable rivers in tho* Ohinemuri district, for the benefit of the Cotmfcy. To Government, stating the council's willingness to undertake tbe collection of the Goldfiekls revenue, provided j> district office be established in Ohinemuri. To Hon. Minister of Trade and Customs, stating that at a meeting of the council, held on March Ig, they had resolved to build a magazine for the storage of explosives at Paeroa. To Mr McLaren, Mining Inspector at Thames, requesting- to be informed witU respect to qmirtz- taken from Ohinemuri to the Thames furnace for treatment, whether Ohinemuri or Thames County would obtain the re venire Inwards: From far Dobson, Te Aroha, stating that Hyde and Blencowe, contractors- for constructing a branch track at the south end of the main reef and passing Camerons ground, would complete thfir work by the end of nexfc week, 22 chains at 275, £29 14s, an<J requesting that payment of the account be arranged for. Uesolveo, on the motion of Cr Nicholls, that vouchers be seftt on to Wellington for progress payments, l-eing balance of Government grant. From Mr C. J.
