WAI HI.
Silvertou. — Since my last report there is no appreciable difference in tue value of the stone that is lieing »ot from the winze in the mine. This winze is now down close upon GO feet, and for the last 30 feet of sinking the manager Iia3 secured a few pounds of specimens every day, whilst the general stuff broken out from the hanging wall portion of the reef is all of goo- 1 quality. In the low level tunnel Bull and party, contractors, are making good headway with the work of driving, and they expect to ii tersect the winze in about 10 days time. Martha Extended. — The late spell of fine weather made itself felt with regard to this company's water supply which, on Wednesday last, was not equal to driving 5 head of stampers, and the manager was obliged to hang up the battery. It is probable however, that yesterday's rain would provide sufficient water to enable crushing operations to be resumed ; the first parcel to be dealt with consists of 40 tons from the Union mine.
