New Cable and Mail Service. Proposed Line via Vancouver Island and Auckland, (BY CABLE — COPYRIGHT.) London, March 23.
The Agents-General have discussed the scheme of Sir Charlea Tapper, High Commissioner of Canada, in which he proposes to lay down a cable from Vaucouver's Island to Auckland ; also the question of a new mail service to Sydney in 29 days. The opinion of the meeting on the subjects referred to was not of a sanguine nature.
