Melbourne, February 19. — Mr John lames will relieve Mr Dow of the portfolio ;>f Mines. Sydney, February 18. — It is announcod that the Cable Company have agreed to the terms demanded by the New Zealand Grovornment, provided that the subsidy is ax 1 ended for a period of six years and i-quarter, instead of five as offered. In the Legislative Assembly to day, the Premier, Sir John Kobertson, announced that His Excollency, Lord Carrington, had ieclined to grant a dissolution of Parliament, and Ministers had decided to placo their resignations in the hands of the Governor forthwith. A Supply Bill for one million and twenty thousands pounds was passed through a'l stages, after which the assembly adjourned. Sydney, February 19.— His Excellency Lord Carrington has sent for Sir Patrick lennings, and charged him with the forma :ion of a new Ministry. The Legislative Assembly met to-day, and adjourned until Fuesday next, in order to givo Sir Patrick Jennings time to form a Government. It is considered probable that Sir Patrick will endeavour to form a Coalition Ministry. The Legislative Assembly met to-day, md adjourned until to-morrow. Sir John Kobertson, Premior, is reported to be in jommunication with His Excellency the Grovernor. It is believed ho has askod for a lissolution of Parliament. Melbourne, February 22.— The prisoners charged with the Collingwood Bank robbery were tried to-day afc the criminal sessions. Beale, who was the leading spirit in the attempt, was sentenced to sight years' imprisonment, while the accomplices, Murray and HopkinB, reoeived )ix years each. The other prisoners were icquitted by the jury.
