TE AROHA.
The dirt now being broken out fPom Chatnpidn Lode No. 3, Tui, is of a niost promising appearance for silver. The reef is looking exceedingly well all over the face. Five tone from this claim were brought down this week preparatory to being shipped to Thames. The roof is now about sft wide, and from present workings to where it junctions with the main reef in No. 2 Champion Lode claim is about 150i"t ; every foot worked upon gives additionalbacks. Going south from the present working* the distance between these two reefs steadily increases, No. 2 going more west, and judging from present appearances branches off into the Mark Mo«n claim. The No. 2 dirt is of a very rioh character. iTive tons from No* 1 Champion Lode was taken to the edge of the bush last week ; and both lots will be shipped to Thames probably early next week. In No. 1 the winze is now down about 25ft, and the dirt looks well in the bottom of the winze. During the past two weeks all hands have been employed making the new track, but will return in a few days to regular work upon the claims breaking out quartz. Only some 15ft of sandstone separates between the present workings on No. A Ghampion Lode and the second reef.
