Messrs J. M. Robson, «J. VV. Shaw, A. J. Thorp, C. F. Mitchell, Thomas Lo^an, J iimes Barrett, Francis Lipsey. (x. IST. McGruor, and Joltn Phillips, jun , were nominated yesterday as can didntes for the Ohineinnri Licensing Bench. The number nominated being in excess of the number required by the Act (viz., 5), necessitates an election, which takes place on the 28th in<t., and the contest l>ids fair to be somewhat sultry on account of the opinions expressed by some of the candidates who hare promised, if elected, to reduce the number of hotels in the township, although it may be said that there are too many hotels here for the present requirements of the place.
