The effect of the low prices ruling for sheep and lambs the last two weeks was seen in the abaeuce of that class of stock to-day, a result which will, no doubt, cause a more active demand on the part of buyers at the next market. WAITOA CATTLE SALE. Mr J. S. Buckiand held his usual monthly sale of cattle, sheep, and horses on Thursday last. About 100 head of cattle and about the same number of sheep were yarded. Yearly steers realised L 2. Grown steers L 4 10s to L 5 os. Empty cows L 2 10s ; 3 early heifer, LI ss. Milch cows L 3 5s to L 5 10s. Fat (.wes, 7s Gd ; lambs, 7s 6d. A number of horses olfered but few sold.
