The Summer Meeting of the OneLunga Racing dtub on January 24 was not the success anticipated,' there being only a small attendance, ,wjbile t protests and d issatiefaction were the order of the afternocn. (B.Williams) , Julia Ann (lOat), Rowdy (9at 101b), St. David (9at), and Sultan (9st) also ran., Tiger got away first, and was never headed,' winning easily by three lengths. Julia Ann refused, and Rowdy rah off. A protest; wa^s entered against Tiger by Mr J. Chadwick that Tiger jumped inside the post; but aftejr hearing evidence the stewards 'dismissed it as frivolous. Totalisator dividend, £2. | Maiden Plate of 20sovs, for horses that have not won a race of the value of lOaovs, Weight for age. Distance, 1J mile. Mr Kerrs blk q Rowdy, aged, 9at (T. ' Clarke) 1 Mr Bruces b q Contractor, 6yra, 9at 101b (Hatfleld) 2 Mr J. Lennard's b m Bragela, aged, , 9>t(Gent) ... 3 Tupaki and Luna also ran. Won by a clear length. Dividend, £12 18s. Onehunga Cup of 13030v5. Distance, 1\ mile. Second horse to receive 20sovs and third lOsovs from the stakes. Mr J, Muirs eh m Dressmaker, by Derby, 6yre, 6at 71b (Pearson) 1 Mr W. Walters's blk h Torpedo, 4yrs, 7st 12lb (including 2lb overweight) (T. Taylor) ■ ... 2 Mr D. McKinnon's blk h Cast Ashore, 4yrs, 6st 71b (Mcllroy) ,. 3 Rewi (78t 21b) also ran. Cast Ashore was the first to get away, and coming past the stand he led Torpedo by a clear length, Rewi being third,- and Dressmaker last. Cast Ashore continued to cut out the running, and at the back of the course he was two lengths ahead, Rewi running into second place, with Dressmaker still in the rear. Passing the stand the second time Cast \shore was still in advance of the field, but round the back of the course Torpedo closed on the leaders, and he appeared to have everything dead settled till rounding the turn for home. Here Dressmaker was called on, and responding in the gatnest manner possible, she got on terms with Torpedo, and the pair raced home amidst great excitement, but a few strides from the judge's box Dressmaker shot out, and succeeded in beating Mr Walters'a horao by a bare neck Ca«t Ashore came very fast at the finish, and was only half a-length behind Torpedo. Totalisator dividend, £3 9s. Maiden Hurdle Race of 20sovs. One mile and a-half ; over six flights of hur dies 3 feet 6 inches high. For hordes that have never won a hurdle race of the value of £10. Mr A. Greenwood's eh q Tinman ... 1 Mr D. Harford'a eh q Hawthorn ... 2 Mr J. Whitford's b q St. David ... 3 Soukar, Kingfi-her, Rowdy, The K*m and Argyle also ran Won easily. A protest was lodged against Tinman that he had previously won a hurdle race, but owinp to thelateness of theafternoon, the stewards decided to defer the consideration of the j matter, and agreed that the totalia&tor should pay on Tinman. The dividend was £9 6s. Suburban Handicap of Sosovs One mile. The winner of the Onehunga Cup to carry a penalty of 71b Second horse to receive 530V3 out of stakc3. Mr W. Robertsons b m Mitrailleuse, by Muekot-Erycina, S,t 4lb (T. Taylor) 1 Mr W. K. Carter's blk q Rewi, 7st 12lb (Dodd) 2 These were the only starters, and Mitrailleuse had no difficulty in winning as she liked. Totalisator dividend, £1 43. Flying Stakes Handicap. — A cup, preBented by Mr W. Adams, value lOsovs., with ssovs. added. Mr W. Robertsons br m Mitrailleuse, syrs, by Musket - Erycina, 9st 101b (T. Taylor) 1 Mr J.
