Admiral Tryon and Samoa.

Wellingtok, January 14. The Samoan chiefs, who visit Few Zealand for the purpose of interviewing the Governor and Ministry, arrived here this evening, and at ten to-morrow morning will, in company with the Hon. Colonial Secretary, wait on His Excellency at Government House. In the afternoon they will visit Admiral Tryon on board the Nelson. Every attention is to he paid to the visitors during their stay here.

Wellington, January 15. The Samoan chiefs who arrived in New Zealand to interview the Governor and Ministry in reference to British protection being afforded to Samoa, are expected tomorrow evening. During their stay, it is understood they will be entertained by Admiral Tryon on board the Nelson. The Government, this afternoon, received a cable message from the Agent-General stating that, on receipt of the Premier's message regarding recent occurrences in Samoa, he placed himself in communication with the Colonial Office, and Lord Salisbury immediately telegraphed to Berlin, and received a satisfactory and re-assuring reply from tha German Government to the effect that nothing in the nature of annexation was contemplated. Wellington, Jan 16.

The Samoan chiefs are this morning interviewing Ministers and prominent officials, and will probably wait on His Excellency the Governor and meet Admiral Cryon during the day. All the Ministers are expected to return to Wellington about the end of this month, and if the Admiral can remain here po long, he is desirous of meeting Ministers in Cabinet, for the purpose of discussing the important questions of the Federal Council, the naval defences of the colony, Samoan matters, etc. London, January 12.

Replying to the energetic query of the Marquis ot Salisbury, Prince Biamarck has assured him that, so far as Geimany is concerned, the Btatus of Samoa will not be altered.
