More Destruction. Insurances, £7,000. Four cottages known as James's Cottages, occupied by W. Bryant and family, Neill and family, occupants ot other two being unknown, and Hayes, Pattern, and Coppersmith's shop were also burnt down. Several buildings some considerable distance away were discovered to be on fire, butweredistinguished before they weremuch damaged. Hayes estimates his loss at £1,000 over insurance. Paul's and Neilaon'a shops were owned by Mrs Kane ; Myers, Smart's, and AJdon's by the trustees of the late Dr. Evans. Farmer's shop and cottages were owned by the Hon. Wi Tako, and sub-let to W. James The amount of property destroyed is estimated at over £12,000, or £7,000 above insurance. The fire this morning took place on the same spot as the great fire in May, IS6B. On that occasion, the game block was swept away by fire The following aro further insurances :— Farmer's: United, £800; Royal, £500; Union, £500 ; National, £400 ; workshop, Equitable, £100; South British, £200: total on Fanner's, £345, Myers : Colonial, £400 ; workshop, Northern, £300. Aldon's : South British, £300 ; National, £375. Smart : l ondon and Liverpool, £500. Four Cottages : Equitable, £400 ; Spiller, National, £100. The total insurance on buildings destroyed is £7,000.
