Married Above the Clouds.
A novel wedding took place recently at Silverton, Colorado. Mies Nellie Conners of Lake City and Oscar Olsen of Animas Forks, were married on snowshoes at the summit of a spur of the Continental Divide, the altitude being over 13,000 feet. Lake City and Animas Forks are on opposite sides of the range of mountains, which at this season of the year are oovered with deep pnow. Early in the morning the bride, accompanied by her two brothers and a party of friends, left Lake City on snowBhoeß, the only means by whioh the mountains could be scaled, for the summit of the divide. The groom, accompanied by Rev. Father Levy and a party of friends, left Animas at the same time, also destined for the summit of the mountains. It was an arduous trip for both parties, and not unaccompanied with danger. It was nearly noon when the groom's party reached the designated point of meeting. The bride's party had not yet arrived, but they had not long to wait, for soon the bride came into sight, merrily trudging along, a brother being on either side of her. For two 'hours they had been climbing above the clouds, and the extreme Altitude and huge snow drifts had made it hard work for them. The groom went out to meet bis bride. They arrivad on the summit arm in arm. Mips Conners was seemingly the least fatigued of any member of the party > The spot ohosen for the wedding was the highest in all the San Juan country. It is fully half a mile above the timber line, and a region of perpetual snow. An uninterrupted view of ; the country for a radius of one hundred miles could be had. The wedding party'wereon a level with the highest of the bald-headed peaks, andthe scene was an impressive one, « Tlie marriage ceremony was performed in the midst of a snow'gtorm, which -fairly< hid -• the happy couple from the view, of the minister.
