NEWS FROM FIJI BY AttAWATA. Reports from rarious quarters in the group have come to hand giving alarming accounts of the serious state produce and vegetation is in, owing to long continued drought.
MARKETS. Weekly markets : Butter, remains at previous quotations, but eggs have advanced to Is per dozen wholesale, and Is 3d retail. Old potatoes, out of market ; new potatoes, worth £5 to £7 per ton ; oats, from 2s 5d to 2s 8d per bushel ; fowl wheat, from 3s 2d to 3s 4il.
