The Aroha AND Ohinemuri News AND UPPER THAMES ADVOCATE.

' This above all—to thine own self be true, And it must follow as tke night rhe day, Thou canst not then he false to any man.' —Shakespeare.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER IS4,1 S 4, 1885.

In order to give our readers full reports of the Auckland Racing Club Spring Meeting, the Sham Fight in Auckland on Monday last, the Agricultuial and Pastoral Show (with full list of prize winner*, etc,) an A other matter of special interest) we this week issue an extra half sheet supplement. Though pressure on our space we are reluctantly forced to hold over a good deal of matter till next issue. From some of the prospectors' claims at Tin' Creek some most prom wing samples of stone h.ive been obtained this week, and it is believed the ground will prove very valuable. This week good gold is said to have been discovered at Homunga, near Waihi, not far from the sea, on ground registered by Messrs J. H. Walsh, 0. f . Mitchell, and Thompson. It will bo seen by advertisement in another column that the Rev. Messrs Bodington and Mason, Missioners from Eng- j ! land, intend to visit Te Aroha on Tuesday ' next, and to deliver addresses in the Public Hall at 7.30 p.m. As they have an j | engagement at the Thames, which will ! compel them to leave on Wednesday j morning, this will be the only opportunity !of hearing them in Te Aroha. We feel sure that all who can will avail them \ selves o£ it, the reputation of the mis- \ f-ioreis, having preceded them, and the interest tyken in their work having increased as! tho inhabitants of different districts have had the | opportunity, qf hearing and judging for themselves. We are requested to state that arrangements have been madY for an ova flow meeting in the School
