When the House met at half-past 7, Major . Atkinson asked the Premier if he intended • moving the postponement of the Government business in order to proceed with his remaining resolutions. Mir Stout replied that by affirming the amendment of the member for. Port . Chalmers, the House had affirmed the principle that the resolutions as a whole were negatived. 'Mr; Stout saidit was found impossible this year to 1 fet the four principal cities to agree to this ill.' Dunedin and Wellington -were already in favour of it, but the other two cities were not as yet inclined- to support the 1 measure. 1 ' The House went' into Committee oh the Rabbit Nuisance Act 'Continuance ißilli which passed' without amendment.' ! The' House went into Committee for f \ivthet consideration of the Mortgage and 'Debentures Bill; and the bill passed with amendment. All the bills passed with formal amendments. The Gold-mining Districts 1 Act Amendment Bill was further coneidered 1 in Committee.
