THE MINES.
New Find. — The drive on No, 1 reef north from low level is now extended to underneath the winze, and men have been put on to rise and break through ; which it is anticipated will bo accomplished by boginning of tidXfc week. In sinking the wh)2e from the Arizona level, owing to the lightness of the air work had to be temporarily discontinued, and a few feet still remain to be sank to connect with the drive. S toping in No. 1 reef above Arizona level is proceeding much as usual, and yielding fair crushing dirt. Rising in this block to connect with the surface has been in progress during the last few weeks, and connection was effected on Wednesday last, this will permit of these stopes being now worked to much greater advantftgej both with regard to ventillation and accessibity. The surfaco of No. 1 reef is still yielding a larger quantity of payable dirt. Good crushing quartz is also now coming to hand from No. 2 reef above No. 1 level. Continued wet weather still prevents the Diamond Gully section of the company's ground being worked upon at present.
