POISONING WITH HUTCHES
Wellington, this day. In connection with Sir Georgo Grey's Bill to restrict the sale of poisonous matches in the colony, Sir Georgo Grey has caused to be mado at the Colonial Laboratory an analysis of samples of matches on sale in the colony. Sakaheret's and Tandsticker wood safety matches are comprised of glue, chlorate of potash, manganese ossicles, and sulphur. Bryant and May's safety matches are made of glue, chlorate of potash, chromateof potash, manganese,o3sicles,and sulphur. The rubber attached to the boxes contains some non-poisonous arsenic. Bell and Black's.Palmer's.BryantandMay'e, wax matches are composed of glue, chlorate of potash, phosphorus (ordinary or poisonous form), and sand, coloured with vermillion, hematite, and Prussian blue. Tho safety matches are non-poisonous, but the vax vestas are extremely poisonous.
