Battisry. — Crushing, which was suspended mst week owing to the slips on the tramway, was resumed on Monday night, but there are no returns to publish this week. New Find. — Driving on No. 1 reef is being pushed on with all possible speed, and it is expected the connection with the winze will be effected in aliout six weeks from date. Pending this being accomplished stoping cannot be carried on to a very large extent, owing to the Foul air created by blasting operations. In No. 1 reef above the Arizona level stoping is still being carried on, the reef is looking well with a little gold showing in the stone. In the surface of No. 1 reef from which stone is being broken out, a good deal more gold is showing during the last few days. In the Diamond Gully section where work was started abont a fortnight since, the reef is being now stripped north from the winze. No stone has yet been broken down further than such as becomes dislodged by the blasting operations :n stripping the reef, and this shows some very good gold It is intended to start breaking out quartz next week, and the q lartz so bro ang will be crushed towards t.ieend of t.ie month. The mine is now employing 20 head of stampers and 26 berdaus in tailngs plant. Colonist. — This mine has been employing 20 head of stampers part of the week to reduce the amount of quartz accumulated during stoppage of battery owing to .slips on tramway. Premier. — Another small trial parcel from No. 1 reef is now being put through at the battery.
