Buckland reports : — Arrivals, both fat cattle and sheep £r<»n Weßt Go.ist during the past week unumially large. Pat cattle fallen in valuo, prices in consequence ranged from 17s to 20s per lOOlbn, but draft w.iuld not average over 18s. Tlie large import checked the expected rise in tiie value of fat sheep, which are now at similar values to those ruling a fortnight since ; cross bred wethers, ranged from 12s to 158 6d ; merinos, 5s 6d to 8s ; and good fat ewes, from 10s 6d to 12s ; pigs, plentiful, but required higher prices. A thousand additional signatures were obtained to-day for the railway reform petition. The steamer Suva has arrived- and reports no sign of the wreck reported off the En at Cape. Professor Aldis has resigned the chairmanship of the Board of Education on the ground os ill health. No change in the produce market except a reduction of 10s per ton in the price flour.
