Slavery in Brazil.
New York, May 29.— The steamer Advance, which arrived here to-day from Rio de Janeiro, brings advices to the effect that the new Ministry of Brazil has adopted a programme for the abolition of slavery, of which the following is a synopsis: There shall be a general registry of all slaves, with a declaration of the value of each slave registered, subject to a yearly depreciation of 5 per cent., making the maximum value of slaves of sixty years al*> 200 milreis each. Slaves over sixty years of age will have no monetary value, but will be obliged to serve for a term of three years. The existing emancipation fund will be continued, and in addition a new fund will be created from a tax of 5 per cent, on all public revenues,except exports, and indemnification will be made to slaveowners in 5 per cent, policies to one-half the value of each slave and service of five years in payment of the remainder,
On the authority of an English paper, . it is stated that Mr Parnell will shortly lead to the altar a young and wealthy Amerioan lady, an intimate friend of the Irish leader's mother,
