A Pig Dealer who Became a Prince.
The death of the Prince Alexander Carageorgevitch is announced as having taken place at Temeavar, in Hungary, on Sunday last week. The deceased Prince was the son of Czerny George, or Black George, who, beginning life as a pig dealer, ultimately became the first Prince and ruler of Servia, whose independence he had gained by his sword. Black George, as students of Servian history will be aware, was murdered, and was succeeded by Milan Obrenovitch, during whose reign the late Prince served in the Russian army. After the deposition of Milan Obrenovitch, Prince Alexander succeeded to the throne, and did much s towards the development of Servia during: his reigri: He was, however, deposed in 1858, and exiled from Servia. ■ After his deposition Michael Obrenovitch, the son of Milan, succeeded to the throne, but was murdered in 1568," Prince Alexander beings generally charged, with haying hired the assassins who committed the' crime.
