Rome experiments have been made as to the comparative value of good hay for stock. As the result, it is estimated that 1001b of hay are equal to 2751b of green Indian corn ; 4(Jolb of green clover ; 4421b of rye straw ; 3601b of wheat straw ; 1641b of oat stiaw ; 180lb of barley straw ; 1531b of pea straw ; 2001b of buckwheat straw ; 40Ulb of dried corn stalks $ 1751b of raw potatoes 5041b of turnips ; 300lb of carrots ; 54:1b of rye ; 46ib of wheat ; 591b of oats ; 451b of mixed peas and beans ; 641b of buckwheat ; 571b of Indian corn; 68lb af acorns j 1051b of wheat bran i 1671b of wheat, pea, and oat chaff ; 1971b of mixed rye and barley ; 591b of linseed j and 3391b of mangle wurzel.
