(to the editor.) Sir, — The Government have a large block of very good land at Waihurakeke, beyond Shaftesbury. A surveyor is laying out tbe Native Reserves on this block. I would suggest that a petition be signed by the residents here to the Crown Lands Board, asking that the Government should lay out some farm sections, which would fetch fair prices, from the fact of its being very good quality of soil This m ittcr is well worthy of consideration to the settlers around.
