Wellington, Juno 19 The estimates of expenditure for the financial year ending March, 18S6, was brought down shortly after the conclusion of the reading of the Financial Statement. The permanent appropriations for the civil list aro £29,750 ; interest and sinking fund, £1,667,573; last year's vote £1,559.115; under Special Act 3 of the Legislature £102,381 ; last year's, £53,724. Total permanent appropriations. £1,800,107. Legislature— Total vote, £17,572; last year's vote, £67,707. The great diftercnoo in this and the last vote is, of course, owing to the two sessions? last > car. Colonel Securities Department estimates the expenditure £221,5G5; lust year's vote, £211,55t ; reduction in messengers and audit. Charitable aid, printing, and miscellaneous services increase. Registrar-General's Department.— Auckland, Registrar of IJirths— cadet increased to £00— £3,000. Provision is made in the RegistrarGencval's vote for census, 18SG, and agricultural statistics. Property-Tax Department. -Unchanged, with the exception of provision £15,000 for triennial valuation.
