LA MONTE IN AUCKLAND.
The Committee appointed at tyie, publicmeeting yesterday re La Months gold saving apparatus, mot at the Chamber of Commerce to day and a sub committee was appointed to canvas for support. It suggested that a company, with n -pitil of 4JGO.OJO, be floated. La Monte modified hia proposals onaidenbly to meet the committee's wished. The proposal as it at present stands is thm : — The immediate capital required in £1,000, to be paid La Monte on receipt of furnace* ami appliances, payment of the balance (£9,000) to extend over i. period o£ eight months, La Monte to keep the plant going successfully for 60 days and pay all charges for 30 daya ; the expenses of the aecond thirty days to be borne by the company. Should tho prospect to form a company fall through, private individuals in the city are prepared to take the matter, up.
