The Newmarket Fitst Spring Meeting was continued to-day. Farewell, the winner, startod four times last season. She commenced her career at the Ascot Meeting in J une, when she ran unplaced in the Windsor Castle Stakes, but a few weeks later on atStockbridgo won the Mottisfort Stakes, boating a field of four. A f ter this, Farewell was not seen out till the Newmarket October Meeting, but in both ovents she started for — Prenderga^t Stakes and Dewhurst Plate -failed to get a situation. Tho winner was trained by Porter, who also prepared Paradox, tho winner of the Two Thousand Guineas on Wednesday. Jvnk, the second filly, started in nine races as a two-year-old, out of which she got home first only on ono occasion. This was in the Quorn Plate at Leicester, when she succeeded in gaining the judge's verdict by a head from Laverock, her only opponent. Satciikl, who ran third, ran in five racoa last season and won one, the Lavant Stakes at the Goodwood Meeting in July, beating five others.
