Sydney, May S. — Inquiries have been made of all incoming vessels regarding the missing boat's crew of the Nightingale, but up to tho present no trace has been found of the boat or its occupants.
Sydney, May 8. — The htting up and arming of the Peninsular and Orient Company's Massilia as a ciuiser has been completed. She sailed yesterday from this port on her first cruise.
Sydney, Way 9.— A1l the Australian colonies have signified their acceptance of Mr Dalloy's proposal for a joint colonial indemnity in case of damage or loss to shipping at the hands of hostile cruisers. The B.s. Triumph has been placed in the New Zealand trade, and will leave this port for Auckland on the 14th inst
Sydney, May 11.— Owing to tbe short supply of water in the botanical reservoirs, from which the city is supplied, the householders have been placed upon a limited allowance. Typhoid fevor has become very prevalent, and at present no less than 76 cases are under treatment at the Hospital.
Melbourne, May 7. The Government to-day received a telegram from Mr Murray Smith, in which he saya it is still doubtful whether peace will be maintained between England and Russia.
Melbourne, May 9.— The Hon. James Service, Premier of Victoria, aunounces that he lias taken *teps to ensure a full discussion of clause 31 in tbo Federation Enabling Bill, when tho measure comes before the House of Commons.
