THE MINES.
New Find. — The principal work in this mine at present consists in driving on No. 2 reef north from the low level. 8 topi my is being proceeded with on No. 2 reef, also on the surface of No. 1 reef, and the quartz coming to hand shows an improvement on that last week. S toping is also being carried on above the Aiizoim level, in the north block from the rise ; the quartz likewise shows a fair amount of gold. Premier.— On Thursday last a start was made with the cross-cut referre 1 to in lust issue. A crushing of 8 or 9 trucks obtained from No. 2 reef was commence I on Thursday. When the * hove is finished no further crushing will take place until after the completion of the cross-cut. Canadian. — Crushing for this mine is now going on, and the dirt shaping, it is thought for a payable return,
