NEW SC ALE OF CHARGES AT THE BATTERY.
The following is a copy of the ' Battery and Tailings Plant rates" posted up in the battery on Saturday latt : — The following regulations w U be in force as from March 16th, and until farther notice : 1. For parcels of quartz yieldiug not more than lOdwts retorted gold per tnii-k, 8s per truck. 2. For every additional yield of ldvvt per truuk, 6d per truck' up to 12s por truck. 3. Alternative charges for stampers : j£l2 per week per 5 head stampers, th« company crushing to find its own screens. 4. 2 berdans free for every 5 head of stampers (whether crushing by the truck or by the week) will be allowed. Other bui'dans in battery and tailings plant for treating blanketings aid tailings direct from battery, 4s per erdan per day. Not more than 3 battery berdans per o head of stampers will at any time be allowed, 2 of them to be free, and one to be paid for at above rate. Berdans in tailing plant may be secured by companies crushing, in proportion to the number of stampers used. 5. 4uy company not crushing, and desirous of grinding 1 old tailings, may do so at the rate of 5s per berdan pur day, including wheeling charges. Any expense other than that under this claim of wheeling in connection with tailings, to be borne by the companies to whom th ay belong. 6. The yield of gold to be taken as that coming from the operations of stanpers/ and berdans on blanketings pertaining thereto. 7. All gold to be deposited to the Bittery Company's account, and a statement made out to correspond with faul■liou slips. ,8. Trial parcel regulations will remain in force as before. Xi. E.
