Almighty voice that callcst me from sleep, Sl< cpless thyself through nil the past of time, An! still unspent, in c crutible sublime, What answer can I mako thee but to creep And hide my silence in the all-sheltering deep. Eon of the music ? Clash of rhyme on rhyme Olfeid* mino ear as 'cwere a futile crime. Breaking the pea- o which reverence should keep. Yet for my worship lacking better way. And seeing how thy strength is crowned "With gracß, And maddened with the beauty of thy face, I am constrained to cry as hest I may And tell thee with my faint, adoring breath, That at thy hand I fain would tasto of death.
