THE SOUDAN WAR.
Suakim, April 15. A reconnaissance was made to-day in the vicinity of Ha9heen, in the course <jf which the British, troops captured forty prisoners as well as 600 sheep ami camel 3. The Arabs offered little resistance.
Bombay, April 15. Earl Dufferin, Viceroy of India, who is now returning from Rawul Pindi to Calcutta, was to- day presented at L ihorc with an address from the local Municipal Board. Replying to to the same, His Excellency took occasion to say that the dominion of the Ameer of Afghanistan, had been the scene of an unprovoked attack on the part of the Russian forces, and he rejoiced to find that the Prince* and people of India were rallying to the British standard. It was impossible, His Excellency addei 1 , to foresee the end of the present crisis bat if war resulted, it would be in in despite of efforts of moderation on the part of England.
