ACCIDENT ON THE RAILWAY
Auckland, April 13. A youtii nainod William McKeever, 15 years old, eon of Mr McKeever, oxpross proprietor, Onehunga, met with a rather gerious accident by falling from tho platform of a railway carriage between Ellerslio and Ponroso. Tho young lad, who is apprenticed to the saddlery business at Newmarket, was a passenger by the 6 p.m. train from Auckland yesterday. The accident occurred near Mr Scarrott's farm. In consequence of a report from a passenger, a platelayer went along the lino from Ponro3e, who found the boy by tho side of the line, and conveyed him t) Ellerslie, fiom which placo ho was sont on to Newmarket for treatment ; but as the services of a medical man wero not immediately available, the boy was sent by the 8 30 p.m. train to Onebunga. Mr Hard wick, tho stationmaster at Ellerslie, had communicated with Mr Glcnnoy, the Onehunga fetationmaster, by telegraph, and the boy's parents being informed of the accident, Dr. Scott and others wero in attendance on tho arrival of tho train. The boy was found to bo suffering from slight concussion of the brain, without other apparent injuries.
