General Graham's Activity.
New York, March 15.— The "Sun's" London cablegram of March' 14th says : ThB arrival of General Graham at Suakim has already produced an almost magical effect in correcting blunders and rectifying the linos for the defence of Suakim.
Graham is still lame from the effects of his accident in Cairo, but he insisted on making a personal inspection of the garrison at Suakim and of the outlying camps. He was unable to make the inspection on horseback, but trudged manfully afoot with the help of a stout cane. The result of his inspection was by no means satisfactory. He berated the engineers and quarter-mast6rs who had planned the advance posts, and said openly he was disgusted at their choice of positions. He said they had blundered in arranging positions so that mutual help would be impossible in the event of a combined night attack by the enemy. General Graham has ordered a radical change in the dispositions for the defence on the land side of Suakim, and his advent is hailed by the soldiers like the ooming of a saviour, The guards have been put to unaccustomed drill in handling siege guns The EgyptionH have been sent wherever there has been a chance of stopping bullets, and the Indians have been employed in sallies to terrify the Arabs.
