KATIKATI TRACK.

Government have this week started work on the Katikati track, so as to make it fit for traffic. Work has beoii commenced on this side, and will becarried on to the top of the range, as on. this portion of the track a number of slips have occurred. It is believed that when the present bridle track has been put in repair, a start will be made to widen the road arid make it fit for wheel traffic. Some £400 is available for carrying out these improvements. Mr Denis Murphy, Waiorongomai, has been appointed Government overseer, and five men are being at present employed.
