Battery. — An abundant supply of wa\er is now available, and all the stampers were again at work on Tuesday night. The battery and tailings plant are now fully employed, and it is not probable work will have to be suspended through lack of water again this season, seeing that the summer i 9 now so far advanced. Returns ; New Find, 45 trucks, 40oz retorted gold from battery, and 11 oz lOdwts from tailings. Tofcal, 51oa lOd wt. Waiorongomai : The crushing of 51 trucks for this mine concluded o» Tuesday last, for a return of 260z 15dwt8 (including tailings). Premier, 7 trucks, 15oz ldwt retorted gold. The Battery is now employed as follows : 20 head New Find, xi) head Inverness, 5 hfiarl Premier, 5 bead May Queen. Tailings Plant : 32 berdan.n f for New Find ; 3 for Premier. AH j last week half the stampers were half j hung up, and half the tailings plant was idle, through lack of water.
