WELLINGTON NEWS.
Wellington, January 20. Sir George Grey's "Maori Legends." 111 1 understand that it is not improbable that Sir George Grey may shortly visit Wellington. His visit, however, would have no political significance. Tenders are to be opened to-day for reprinting a valuable work on Maori legends, written many years ago by Sir George Grey, and if a Wellington tender is accepted, as it is not improbable will be the case, Sir George would probably prefer being on the spot to revise the work which is being done at the command of Parliament.
Arrival of Messrs Stout and Lamacli. Hons, Stout and Larnach arrived this morning, but at the time of writing had i not been visible at the Treasury Building, so that their future movements are unknown. The, original intention was that Mr Larnach should leave to-morrow for the West Coast, and if public business permits, Mr Stout was to accompany him.
