Hon. Mr Ballance informed a deputation of Rotorua leaseholders that arrangements were < n the eve of beinsj completed with the Roforua Railway Company, which would provide for the construction of the railway to Rotorua, and would greatly enhance the value of t ! ie township sites. Sir Julius Vogel is expected to oome to Auck.and from Waiwera, in about a fortnight. His health has been greatly benefited by his residence at the Springs. Te Wheoro, who has been in town since his return from England, intended to leave for the Waikato this afternoon. He will probably go to his own place, near Mercer, tirst. The old chief remains true to his blue ribbon principles. Buckland reports at Remuera, Wednesday : Fat cattle, yarded, far in excess of requirements,. Those sold ranged from 15s for inferior cows, to 21s for piime steers, but enough for another market lemained unsold. Fat sheep were yarded in less numbers than usual, but were dull of sale and mauy pens remained unsold, l^d for good ewes and 2d for wethers, were the ruling prices. Pigs were in moderate supply only, but shared in a les9 degree in falling values.
