THE COROMANDEL BUSH FIRES. Destruction of the Bismarck Battery.
Auoklvnd, January 27. Oun own correspondent telegraphing today from Coromandel states that the bush fires are still raging. The Bismarck G.M. Company's crushing battery at Tokatea caught lire yesterday, and was totally destroyed. A large quantity of stacked firewood has been burned. The people stowed their furniture in the drives and fled- There was a Aery narrow escape ot the Tokatea batfcory and the manager's house. Bush fires have also caused immenso destruction at Tairua, whero several dams and houses have been destroyed.
