NEW ZEALAND INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION. List of Auckland Exhibits.
The New Zealand Exhibition, to bo held in August of the current year, is likely to be very successful, judging from the inflow o^ applications for space for the display of local industries from Auckland alone. The provisional synopsis indicates the mode of classification for the advantage both of exhibitorsand judges, subject to certain necessary regulations. These departments will include raw and manufactured products, machinery, textile fabrics, clothing and accessories, and alimentary products. The Industrial Home Branch will include works of children under thirteen and not exceeding sixteen in works of art, painting, drawing sculpture, carving, art furniture ; also works of usefulness; also science and amusement, philosophical apparatus, models, needlework, dressmaking, millinei-y, upholstery, embroidery, knitting, leather work, &c, &c. We notice that tho special art section will be conducted by tho Wellington and other art societies of tho colony, the special educational section by the Educational Institute of New Zealand, and the agricultural shows by the agricultural societies of the colony. The following applications for space have been received by Mr James Stodart at the Chamber of Commerce, Insurance Buildings :— Win. Service (two spaces), for cardboard boxes and fancy frilling; Messrs Partridge and Woollams, New Zealand wood pipes, cigar-holders, ivory billiard, pool, and pyramid balls ; Walter Greenshields (two spaces), patent automatic diamond, hygienic suspender's, skirt supporters, kneelets, bracelets,' and Shodlder braces ; Francis Stodart (two spaces), raw silk, produced by 2,000 worms, reared by oxbibitor ; Peter Birley (two spaced); ornamental iron works, f uschia from nature twining round a stick ; Messrs Mason (two spaces), exhibition of perfumery ; New Zealand Sugar Company, samples of sugar-cane and rofined sugars ; Auckland Timber Company, fifty feet of space for various woods ; H. A. H. Hitehins, a vegetable compound from New Zealand he^bs for specific cures ; Randolph Eagleton, case of human hair, wigs, and curiosities ; Messrs Lees and Co (two spaces) Excelsior Worcestershire sauce ; John Reid and Co, kauri gum, flax, fungus and other natural products ; Auckland Fibre Manufacturing Company, rope and cordage made from Manila hemp, bender and twines, and New Zealand flax ; Northern Boot and Shoe Factory, collection of boots, shoes, and uppers ; David Patrick Fisher, dyed ostrich foathers ; Messrs Garlick and Cranwell, mantel shelf, mirror, and fender of New Zealand woods ; Wm. Norrie (two spaces), a gem wardrobe, made of New Zealand woods ; Messrs Gilmore, Younghusband and Co. '(two spaces), Indian teas, tobaccos, preserves, shawls, drapery, etc. A Wellington 'telegram states :— The Executive of the New Zealand Industrial Exhibition havo decided to receive applications for space up to March Ist, and for the home industrial branch until April Ist: they have also decided that the charge for space would be Is per square foot. This charge will also cover the cost of transit to and From the Exhibition, insurance, etc.
