SCHOOL AND TEACHER'S HOUSE BURNED DOWN.
New Plymouth, January 28. A fir]. broke out in the East school-house at one o'clock this morning-, and tho building, with tho teacher's rosidonco, was totally dc&troycd by fire. Tho school has not been in use, and tho teacher's ro&idonco was empty, as the late schoolmaster had removed to another houso a fortnight ago. The lire is suspected to bo the work of an incendiary. The building was not insured.
