FOUND DROWNED. (From the Auckland " Star," Dec. 30.)
Eaiua- this morning two natives discovered the dead body of a man on iho rocks ut Orakei. They informed the polico, and the water-police accordingly proceeded to investigate the mailer. They found the body as stated, and brought _it up to the morgue in a boat tor identification. Tho body was very much decomposed, the features being unrecognisable, li was fully clothed, excepting that tho hat and one boot wero missing. There wa« nothing in the pockots but a jiipo and a pookct-kuilc. Tho body \v\n been identified as thai o£ John Lazarus Peterson, a seaman, about 2S ycavs of ago, who has bsen missing since ChrißtmaS Day. An inquest will be held tomorrow.
