THE MAORIS AND THE TRUNK RAILWAY. Wellington, December 13.
The Native Minister has received a letter from Rewi (Manga), of Ngatimaniapoto, intimating the desire of his people that the trunk railway should proceed speedily, but expressing the hope that the present Government will not follow the example of their predecessors in office, and only make known to the natives a portion of their intentions
