TAUPO NATIVE LAND COURT. Taupo, December 15.

The Native Land Court opened here on Tuesday last, and closed yesterday morning. The natives express satisfaction with the Court's proceedings, which partook more of the nature of a Court ot Record, confirming arrangements arrived at amongst the tribes concerned. Mr Samuel Vaile probably starts soon on a lecturing tour in the South Island. What next? An inventive genius has applied the electric light to the destruction of bugs. Hint to colonial visitors— The first clay a guest, the second a burden, the third a nuisance. The Government are said to have prohibited Civil Servants to take an active part in trading companies. What about Cabinet Ministers ? Dunedin's extremity is Auckland's opportunity. Dunedin Harbour Board have deoided that they can't afford to remit harbour dues on the direct steamers. Injustice to England, for a change, is something to refresh the Hibernian soul.
