The Trades Union Bill has passed.at which the Trades Hall Executive are indignant.as amendments had been made in the bill which would bring the Trades Unions under the operation of the criminal laws. A woman named Prosser has been arrested on the evidence of her daughter to the effect that she had poisoned a child with rum, and then, after keeping the body in the house for a month, buried it in a back yard, where the remains were found yesterday. Sydney, Dec. 12. No further small-pox cases have occurred in the city, but the desease has dtveloped amongst some of the persons sent to quarantine. Dr. Donovan, who omitted to report cases under his care, and so caused the present epidemic, has been fined £50 at the Police Court. There are other cases against him. The weather, so far, has been favourable — dry and warm.
