AN EXTRAORDINARY PHENOMENON. Burstirs of Enormous Thundercloud. Wellington, December 8.

Captain Edwin has received the following message from Roxburgh :—": — " Between 4 and 5 pm. yesterday a heavy thundercloud burst over the township and vicinity, with a circuit of about four miles, causing the creeks to flood to such an extent as to carry away the town waterworks, tearing up supply pipes, and opening culverte of twenty years' standing. The damage is at least £400 or £500."
