Melboukne, Nov. 29.— Chief Justice Sir W. F. Stnwell has been granted leave of absence for a year, on the ground of illhealth. Melbourne, Dec. 3. — A destructive fire occurred at one o'clock yesterday morning in Sali Cleves bonded store, Lonsdalestreet. Sydney, November 29.— Another case of small-pox has occurred here, and the whole family has been placed in quarantine. Sydney, Dec. I.— Within the last fortyeight hours eleven fresh cases of small-pox have been reported, and in connection therewith fifty-seven persons have been quarantined. Sydney, Dec. I.— The English cricketers concluded a match on Saturday against a local eleven of Parramatta district. The match resulted in a victory for the visitors by nine wickets. Sydney, Doc. 3. — No fresh cases of small-pox have been reported since Monday. Two of the patients in quarantine are seriously ill, Adelaide, Dec. 2. — A suspected incendiary was arrested here yesteiday by the police. Albany, Dec, 3, — Sir Jamea and Lady Prenderga&t were passengers for New Zealand by the Valetta, vhicn arrived on Monday.
